At Love MInus Zero I know that your wedding day will likely flash by you in one big blur. This being the case, I strive to create images that will stir your emotions and reflect your day as if you're experiencing it for the first time.
This goal is achieved by coupling the subtle moments and emotions of your wedding with the experienced eye of an international award-winning photojournalist. I approach your wedding with the same work ethic I apply while on assignment for national & international editorial clients. This often means that I’m so engaged and passionate in covering the story, I frequently forget to stop for lunch!
Whether I’m covering environmental issues along the Ganges River in India, a camel beauty contest in the United Arab Emirates, a presidential inauguration in the small indigenous village of Kogelo in Africa or the key moments of your wedding, I aim to create images that beautifully tell the story. The end result is a collection of fine art documentary images that accurately tell the narrative of your wedding day.
In the end, I want to complement the memories of your wedding day, not complicate them.
“After all, when the lights go out and you're living your happily ever after, the photos are all you have left.” Former clients Tina + Adam
Let’s meet for some good old fashioned face time to get to know one another better. More importantly, it gives me the opportunity to understand your wedding vision. During this time I will elaborate about my work flow in order to help make your overall experience that much more jubilant and stress free. We can also take the time to go into further detail about different products including albums, prints, and custom wedding packages.
The Walk Through
Prior to your wedding date I’ll be sure to touch base with you to go over the logistics of your wedding. Details often change at the last minute - not to worry I’m extremely flexible and here to not only meet your needs but exceed them. I will also discuss the timeline of your wedding day and clarify any special requests you might have. At this point, I will also connect with your wedding planner to build further insight and specifics about your wedding day. The better I’m informed and prepared for your day, the greater your pictures will be.
The Wedding Day: Getting Ready
While everyone else is still wiping the sleep from their eyes, I know you’ll have started preparing for the day much earlier. As your photographer, I love being on location capturing the diversity of emotion you’ll be experiencing with your bridesmaids, parents and loved ones. Not to mention, I’ll use some of this time to make gorgeous details of important items like your ring, your flowers, and the dress. Of course I’ll pop over to the boys’ side of the tracks too; we don’t want anyone feeling left out.
Phew, so you’ve finally made it! Your walk down the aisle with Dad, the first time your soon-to-be partner sees you in all your glory, family, friends and loved ones tearing or cheering... Too nervous or engrossed in the moment to remember it all? Don’t sweat it, I’ll be there to catch and frame it all into a tangible memory. All the while I’ll work like a light footed ghost so as not to distract from that which is most important - you and your guests.
Couple and Bridal Party Portraits
No wedding would be complete without portraits of you and your partner looking your best! After all, you didn’t spend months, heck maybe even years, prepping for this day just to pass up an opportunity to be photographed looking and feeling your best, right? And, if you’re camera shy like me, not to worry. I can relate so I’ll take special care to help make you at ease. Last but not least, I’ll be certain to treat your bridal party with just as much care.
Family and Group Shots
We can’t forget to get the shots with both you and your family. Prior to your wedding we will have already arranged your request list of those “must have” groupings. Knowing that you’ll be eager to make your grand entrance into the reception I’ll work quickly but qualitatively. I promise.
You can exhale. It’s official - you’re married! While you’re busy celebrating I’ll focus on you and your guests. From your grand entrance to the first toast and then off to capture you getting down with the get down on the dance floor. As always, I’ll move seamlessly throughout your reception looking for not only the high frequency moments but the quiet subtleties too.
End of the Night
High five! But before I pack it in I’ll touch base with you and make sure that there’s not any last requests. Not to mention, having been with you and all of your loved ones all day I’m going to want to thank you for allowing me to document the most important day in your life.
